A while back, I wrote a Medium essay about whether people should provide for their pets in their will.

It was one of the most popular posts I've ever written.

The bottom line is that a lot of people assume that after they die somebody will step up to care for their beloved dog or cat, but far too often this isn't true and that dog or cat ends up at a shelter.

Provide for your pets in your wills, people!

Make sure that you line up somebody to take care of your dog or cat after you die, and provide them with the money it will cost to do so.
