My pal Betsy once told me that her neighbor’s husband was cheating on his wife. How did she know?
Every morning as she sipped her coffee, Betsy would gaze out the window of her breakfast nook and see Bob standing on his driveway, talking intently on his phone.
He always stood in the same spot — a spot from which he couldn’t be seen from inside his own house.
Maybe there was a good reason for him to do that once or twice. “But every morning?” Betsy said to me. “He’s cheating on Deb for sure.”
Sure, enough, within a year, Bob and his wife were divorced.
Did Betsy ever tell Deb about her suspicions?
“Are you kidding me?” Betsy replied when I asked her. “I don’t even like Deb. Why would I get involved? Anyway, what Bob was up to was none of my business.”
