Even within difficult relationships, I’ve had in my life, if I could share a good laugh with that person I always felt like the relationship had value

I’ve always felt this way. Although I’ve learned that the ability to share laughter isn’t the best basis for choosing a partner. (Kindness and a good moral compass, for instance, are also very important.)
