I agree.

I'm a humorist myself. Trying to be funny can be tricky and sometimes you get it wrong.

When you do -- and I have -- the best thing to do is to apologize sincerely. Not rattle off a fake apology that you clearly don't mean. Or that makes it clear that you don't understand that you've fucked up.

You educate yourself, you figure out what the problem was, and you apologize.

And then you never do it again.
