You can always buy a one hour consult. You send me some pages, I read them and then we talk about what works and what needs work, and I give you a lot of useful feedback.

I charge you for both the time I take to read your work and for the time we spend talking about it, but we agree to not spend more than an hour.

It will be useful but not too pricey and it will give you a good idea of what working with an editor (me!) is like.
