I do it all the time.

I write everything on the site these days, because the story-creation template is so user-friendly.

Then I cut and paste the stories I want to market outside the platform into an email to the editor whose pub I want to submit to.

If they -- or the next editor I submit to -- turn it down, I publish it on Medium.
