I don't think anybody would leave if they believed it was only going to be a few days of low income.

The problem is that nobody knows if this is just a temporary glitch or if paying writers next-to-nothing is Medium's new normal.

And Medium has been oddly silent about this change.

The writers who are clearing out are assuming that if this were only temporary, Medium would have told us.

So they believe that this is Medium's new normal and they don't want to participate.
