I fast from 12–14 hours on most days, which is to say that I stop eating at around 7 at night and don’t eat again till 7 or thereabouts the next morning.
I don’t do it for weight loss — I don’t need to lose weight — but because it is healthier.
Maybe you should start with 12 hours of fasting a day and work your way up to a longer daily fast?
And yes, drinking a lot of water is essential.
