I had a dear friend who ghosted me once. I would have been devastated -- but she'd ghosted a mutual friend of ours a couple of years earlier, so I KNEW that it wasn't about me, That this was just something she did, and that I'd never get any explanation or closure. I knew this because I'd helped our mutual friend through her experience.

So much of what you say here is spot on.

If you're ghosted, it isn't about you. It's about the person who vanished on you without an explanation.
