I have been writing and publishing essays, article and humor pieces everywhere from the Funny Times to the New York Times for many decades now and the only thing I know for sure is that editors almost always change your headline. Sometimes it's an upgrade. Sometimes it's not. But it's taught me not to fall in love with -- or care that much about -- any of my headlines, because they probably won't survive.
