I haven't read the story you're talking about but if somebody is making money like that on Medium I'd be more interested in actually reading their other work to see what the appeal is (and see what I can learn from it) than in reading about how they feel about it. Especially if they don't feel good about it.

I only know one Medium writer who is making that kind of money and he feels humble and happy about it.
