I used to be. I worked at a library for 21 years and loved every minute of it. I looked forward to going to work each day.

Then I got laid off.

Now I work as a Writing Coach and I love that too.

So I guess I'm saying that it is possible to love your work. I do.

That being said, although I know a few writers who make a good living from their writing (including one former popular New York Times columnist) most writers don't.
