I used to open my cat's mouth and pop the pill in and then hold her mouth shut until she swallowed it while she made all kinds of angry noises at me that pretty much promised "The moment you let go of my mouth, Roz I am totally going to BITE YOU so hard." Then when she'd swallowed the pill I'd let go of her mouth and leap away so she couldn't retaliate.
