…is new algorithm will cause writers to write longer posts. That may actually be counter productive; I often abandon stories that drone on and on and neither clap nor comment when I do. I haven’t timed myself, but I wouldn’t be surprised if most of those won’t pass the skim test.

I usually don't even bother to read stories that are going to last more than 5 minutes, given that just about every 6 minute Medium story I've ever read has been a 4-5 minute story that needed a good line edit.
