I'm a retired bankruptcy attorney and I agree with you -- Medium is acting exactly like a company that is running out of cash. There could be many other explanations for their current behavior, of course. But that one is definitely plausible.

I hope they're totally solvent and just being weird.

But none of us know and they're not saying.
