Even more disturbing to me is the large number of good writers who are giving up or taking extended breaks. For many, this is an important creative outlet.
I'm hearing a lot of the same about moving to Substack, Vocal, or other platforms.

I’m making so little money this month that it just makes financial sense to take a break.
