I understand your wanting to take your dog everywhere, but there are people who are scared of dogs, even friendly harmless dogs.

And others who aren't scared but just don't want dogs around.

I think you're smart to refrain from going where your dog isn't welcome, given how attached you are to him.

It's much better than bringing your dog along to a gathering where he isn't wanted.
