It would be very tempting to surround myself with people who tell them that I’m great.

However, the desire to remain the focus of everyone’s attention explains why, in Thank You and Goodnight, we witness Jon Bon Jovi surrounding himself with people who inflate his ego and tell him he’s great, even when he is clearly not.

It would be very tempting to surround myself with people who tell them that I’m great. 

Alas, that is not one of my options. 

Thankfully, continuing to write at age 69 is a lot easier on the body than continuing to sing or dance.
