Then I hear the child care worker yelling at him, “Get away from the fence! Stranger danger!” I considered yelling back at her. “I’m hardly a stranger. I’ve lived here for 12 years! Do you think I’m gonna climb the fence to grab him?”

I believe in teaching kids about stranger danger, but does instilling this fear include next-door…
