Mine wasn’t in the usual places either.

…but in the wrong places. I knew I had endometriosis aft but not at my bow, where it is more common. They looked for it in the usual places and told me I didn’t have endometriosis when it wasn’t anywhere near the figurehead. 16 years, four exploratory operations (none of them the laparoscopy I knew I needed from the outset) and perimenopause later, I finally got the diagnosis. It had been painful and debilitating.

Mine wasn’t in the usual places either. 

I wasn’t properly diagnosed until my body decided to grow itself a whopping big endometrioma that couldn’t be missed.
