I believe that Medium is actually moving in a good direction. And that the work that gets boosted and thus makes money is more aligned with the kind of work that is published by paying markets outside medium.

That being said, I too have been on the platform since 2019 and I make far less money these days than I did back then. I’m fine with that because I know how to write the kind of essay that gets boosted. And I have. But I also choose the write stuff that will never get boosted in a million years.

Like posts about medium or humor pieces about killer pianos or essays calling the dead submersible billionaires idiots.
