Or Scream

How do you wake up? With a song in your heart and a smile on your face? With a groan? A scream? Eager to pop out of bed and go for a run? Eager for your morning coffee? When I asked my friends how they wake up in the morning, here’s what they told me:

When the alarm clock goes off, my first thought is, “What’s the worst thing that would happen if I ignored that?” Not proud of it, but true.

I just played the 1812 overture finale, complete with cannons, to wake my kids up! Seriously, 5 minutes ago. Rip the band aid off.

I love waking up, putting the coffee on and hopping into the shower.

I have four dogs. While they do not wake me, when I do open my eyes they are all on the bed staring at me. (They may be waking me telepathically now that I think about it.)

I’m a morning person, so I awaken easily. A little groan as my achy joints roll over and out of bed. But once I’m up, I’M UP.

I say good morning to my partner and we cuddle and then look at our phones until one of us makes the other get up to make coffee.

I hit snooze a couple of times today. Then I took a shower. The shower helps.

My bladder is my alarm clock.
