My understanding is that Anthony expects people to know because he tells them. And once he tells them, he expects them to not misgender him. And if they do, he refuses to accept that.

Working with the public probably isn't the best fit for somebody who can't handle being treated disrespectfully, since the one thing I learned when I worked when i was a waitress is that this happens a lot and that for the most part you just have to suck it up and keep moving.

Especially if you want a good tip.

But I'm not saying that this is good.

Or that there aren't limits to what wait staff have to put up with.
