At some point tipping shades into asking for a handout.

And, of course, it puts the burden on me to make up for the fact that you're not paying your workers a living wage.

That being said, as a former waitress I always tip at least 20% at a restaurant, and $5 a day to the folks who clean my room when I stay at a hotel. And my Lyft driver always get an automatic 20%.
