“The deceit aside?” Are you kidding me? It’s not that he loved another person. It’s that he lied about it for over a decade. It was absolutely the deceit. The betrayal of trust. Had he leveled with me when he reconnected with Mollie we could have talked about it and gone forward, perhaps as close friends. The fact that he had an entire other relationship in which he was honest with her (she knew all about me) but that he kept hidden from me is what made me want to leave him. I didn’t want a relationship without honesty and trust.
