The thing about readers critiquing your "liberal" views -- that's useful feedback, in that it gives you a sense of how at least one part of your readership is seeing you.

Whether you want to adjust your views or your voice to please them is your call. Clearly, you want to remain authentic and not cater to them. But they've still told you something that's useful to know.
