I'm a writing coach and editor-for-hire and one of the first things I tell my Medium clients is that almost every 7-8 minute Medium story is actually a 3-5 minute Medium story that needs to be focused and trimmed.

And if you don't focus and trim your own 7 minute Medium story beofre you publish it? Your readers will skim through that sucker and do it for you!
