Well, kind of.

I had decided that I would retire from library work at age 70.

Then the pandemic hit and I was terminated for refusing to work with the public before a vaccination was available, at age 67.

At which point my side gig (being a writing coach) became my primary gig.

Which is just as much fun but brings in less money.

So yeah, I had it all figured out. But it didn't work out that way.

I didn't step away. I was pushed.
