When I used to end up killing time in a doctor's waiting room with my son, the first thing he'd do was explore the room itself. He'd open all the cabinets and drawers and check out what was in them. He'd try to figure out the purpose of every gizmo and gadget in the room. If there was a computer, he'd do a little exploring.
