At what age, according to a recent Singles in America survey, do women enjoy having sex the most?
At 66.
Not 26. Not 36. But 66! Which means?
At 65, I’ve got something fun to look forward to. (The best age for men, in case you’re curious, is 64.)
It also means that the stereotype that we 60-somethings have pivoted away from having fun between the sheets is wrong. We’re not just sitting by the fire reading mysteries or tooling around the golf course or endlessly posting photos of our grandchildren on Facebook.
We’re also making whoopee.
When I shared the news that we’re in our sexual heyday with my Facebook friends, their responses ranged from cynical to sarcastic:
You’ve got to be kidding me.
At 70, I barely remember what sex is.
66? Subtract 40 years and I’d agree.
Funny how as we age that number goes up.
