Seven years ago, I learned that the man I’d loved and trusted for 20 years had a secret girlfriend on the side for over a decade.
I threw the cad out, changed the locks and found a good therapist. I also joined a great online support group for women whose partners had either vamoosed or gotten caught cheating.
Although I’m long over my own experience with Mr. Infidelity, I still drop into that group from time to time. And I see the same thing happening over and over.
A woman new to the group will post something like:
My husband just left me. It was totally out of the blue. We’ve been together for decades. I thought we were happy. He says he doesn’t want to talk about it. I don’t understand.
After which 107 women who have been through it all will respond with:
There’s another woman.
She’ll usually come back with:
