does not begin to explain why payment to every human Medium writer I know or am aware of has suddenly tanked.

It seems to me that (1) Medium has run out of money to pay writers, (2) Medium has decided not to pay writers, or (3) Medium has the money and wants to pay writers but something is preventing Medium from doing so.

So, Scott, which one is it?

I'm asking with respect and with an awareness of the fact that you cannot be enjoying the current situation any more than I am.

The difference is that you know what's going on and I don't.
